Feminist agreement and contracting practices
Why not make our contracts more humane, nurturing and inclusive of the needs of both parties? There is very little mandatory legislation concerning contracts. This means that between equal parties it’s possible to agree or make a contract about almost anything, and in almost any terms, without the legislative system stepping in. Contract law has a lot of customary practices, but we can always invent our own, as long as they don’t violate anyone’s rights or discriminate against anyone. This might ask for unconventional and experimental techniques for the negotiations, which could result in a deeper agreement between the parties. Let’s try!
Robin Hood taxation for the precariat
Taxes are important. I pay my taxes happily and urge you to do the same. However, there are some groups in the society, especially among the self-employed, who statistically earn very little. They also often end up paying too much taxes, because their taxation is a lot more complicated than those working in steady jobs. I can help you with your tax return and teach you good practices and principles for personal accounting, so that next year you’ll be able to do it yourself.
Queering family and inheritance law
One of the most important rights defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the right to family. However, our legislative system is far from equal to different family types. Many ways of forming a family or a tight union are still left without protection of the law. I would like the definition of family to be wider, and will provide a safe space for discussion about how to protect your right to family life in different situations.
Democratizing the law
Know your rights! I believe that everyone should have a right to understand law. Most things can be explained without fancy words. I am also an educator, so I know how important it is to be clear in my communication about complicated matters. Don’t worry if you don’t know or understand something, I’ll explain it to you in plain language.
Sustainable entrepreneurship and degrowth economy
Sustainability is taken into consideration in every aspect of Vegan & Legal’s action plan. I aim for a sufficient income for myself, not economical growth for the business. I firmly believe in collaboration, not competition, and am open to working together with others in a nonhierarchical manner. When you contact Vegan & Legal, you’ll always know who you are talking to. Vegan & Legal’s goal is to contribute to a fairer society at a grassroots level, by means of social activism, fair pricing, and targeting its services to those who share its values.
Kindness
People who seek legal advice are often in distress and feeling that they have been treated unfairly. I acknowledge that and will always aim to respond with empathy. I also believe that kindness is a form of intelligence, and that conflicts are best solved with listening and honesty. Being kind does not mean being weak, however. When needed, Vegan & Legal can be your fiercest defender.
TLDR: Vegan & Legal follows non-discriminatory guidelines in all its activities. You are welcome to get in touch, if you agree!
